How divine spawns work

Divine eggs are different from everything else in Steal an Egg. When a divine spawns, it appears in every server at the same time. That's why one creator saw a World Burner "spawn twice in the past 24 hours for the very first time" and missed both by five minutes. The spawn is game-wide, the timing is unpredictable, and the egg doesn't wait.

The twist: each server rolls its own size. The number one player explained that a divine "could be in many different sizes" from server to server, which is why top players hunt in teams. One person hops servers looking for the biggest copy, the rest wait to join.

The game announces the spawn in chat. You need to be online, ideally already standing near the biome. Several players keep Steal an Egg open all day for exactly this reason. One complained that the Sky Whale "spawned twice when I'm sleeping".

The divines and what they need

Divine Biome Speed sign Notes
Unicorn Cosmic 700M Weakest divine, easiest to reach
Kitsune Cherry Blossom 2.5B ~1 day timer
Night Flame Titan Temple 7B Best value per hour
Archangel Angels & Demons 20B Can go ~10 days without spawning
World Burner Angels & Demons 20B Same output as Archangel
Aetherion Angels & Demons / fusion 20B Strongest non-whale divine
Royal Sky Whale Enchanted Forest 50B Fusion ingredient for the Guardian
Spirit World Guardian Fusion only — 2 whales + 2 Sun Lions
Octophant Event (Unstable DNA) — Pity at 100 mutations
Shattered Colossus Shattered Rift egg — Feed eggs until the pity fires
Mecha Scrambler Dr. Scramble drop — Ultra-rare
Skeletal Sabertooth Extinction egg (Robux) — 1% then 0.5%
Sabertooth, Dreadscale, Mecha Dreadscale, Cthulhu, Luminous Cthulhu Shop / packs — Paid eggs

Preparing for a divine hunt

1. Have more speed than the sign. Divine eggs are often big, and big eggs are heavy. With the sign value alone you'll get caught. Aim for 20–50% over, or bring a speed flask.

2. Bring a real weapon. Every player in the server is running for the same egg. The default bat won't stop anyone. The Hammer and the Titan Temple Axe knock rivals far enough to buy you seconds. Biome bats from completed indexes are the minimum.

3. Place traps on the path between the biome and the bases. Rivals carrying the divine will run into them.

4. Clear your pen. You'll want space, and you may want to hide pets so you can see the egg properly.

5. Stock mutation items. A divine is the best place to spend a Scrambled potion or Enchanted Essence. Apply it after placing the egg and before hatching.

During the spawn

  • Go immediately. Divines get taken in seconds in busy servers.
  • If you can't win the race, ambush the winner. Hitting the carrier makes them drop it. Many divines change hands three or four times on the way home.
  • If the guardian is chasing someone else, the nest is open. Take the egg and let them be the distraction.
  • If your server's copy is small, hop. Same divine, different size in each server. Hopping quickly can find a bigger copy before it's taken.
  • Pause before grabbing. One creator grabbed the wrong egg in a nest twice in one session. Check the glow.

After the steal: timers and mutations

Divine timers are long: 12 hours for the Unicorn, about a day for the Kitsune and Night Flame, 17–18 hours for the Angels & Demons divines and the Sky Whale. Ways to cut them:

  • Place at dusk, because eggs grow faster at night.
  • The 2x Growth pass halves the timer.
  • The 1.25x grow-speed index reward.
  • Robux instant hatch, around 300 for a divine. Pricey, but some players want the pet working right away.

Before hatching, apply your mutations. Results we've seen on divines: a Golden + Silver + Scrambled Unicorn at $32B, a Rainbow + Scrambled Night Flame at $31B and a Golden + Scrambled + Enchanted Sky Whale at $422B.

Which divine to chase first

  1. Unicorn, because you can reach it first. Even a small one ($1B) transforms a mid-game pen.
  2. Night Flame has the best balance of speed needed and output.
  3. Kitsune if you're already in Cherry Blossom.
  4. World Burner / Archangel once you're near 20B. Take whichever spawns.
  5. Royal Sky Whale at 50B. Get two, plus two Celestial Sun Lions, and you can fuse a Spirit World Guardian.

Divines without the speed

Not every divine needs a race:

  • Octophant: grind Unstable DNA eggs during the lab event. The pity guarantees it, and one player got it early.
  • Shattered Colossus: feed eggs into the Shattered Rift egg until the pity fires.
  • Aetherion: fuse two divines at the waterfall with a friend, or combine an angel egg and a demon egg.
  • Admin Abuse gifts: developers sometimes hand divine eggs out directly. One creator was gifted a World Burner at 1:50 a.m.

For combining divines, see the fusion guide. For rankings, see the tier list.
