Overview
This privacy policy explains what information is collected when you visit the Steal an Egg Wiki at www.stealanegg.fans (the "site"), how it is used, and the choices you have. The site is an unofficial fan guide to the Roblox game Steal an Egg. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" refer to the people who run the site.
The short version: we do not ask you to create an account, we do not run sign-up forms, and we do not sell personal information. The site itself is a set of static pages. The main data processing happens through our hosting provider and, where enabled, through Google's advertising services, which are described below.
Information we collect
Information you give us
If you email us, for example through the address on our contact page, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you write in the message and any attachments. We use this only to reply to you, to fix the issue you reported, or to handle your request. We keep emails only as long as we need them for that purpose and then delete them.
Information collected automatically
Like nearly every website, when you load a page your browser sends technical information to the server that delivers it. This can include:
- Your IP address.
- Browser type and version, operating system and device type.
- The page you requested, the page that referred you, and the date and time of the request.
The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Cloudflare processes this request data to deliver pages, protect the site against abuse and attacks, and provide aggregated traffic statistics. We may see aggregated numbers such as total visits or popular pages, but we do not use this data to identify individual visitors. Cloudflare's handling of data is described in the Cloudflare privacy policy.
Data stored in your browser
The site's own pages do not set tracking cookies. Some interactive tools, such as our calculators, run entirely in your browser and do not send what you type to us.
Cookies and advertising
Google AdSense
We use, or may use, Google AdSense to show advertising on the site. Advertising helps cover hosting and the time needed to keep the Steal an Egg Wiki up to date. Google and its partners are third-party vendors, and they use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads on this site.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings. Alternatively, you can opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info.
- Learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
If you opt out of personalized advertising, you may still see ads, but they will be based on general factors such as the content of the page you are viewing, rather than your browsing history.
Other third-party ad vendors or ad networks may also serve ads through Google's systems. A list of these vendors is available from Google, and you can manage their cookies through the links above or through the consent message shown to visitors in some regions.
Consent in the EEA, UK and Switzerland
If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you will be asked for consent before personalized advertising cookies are used, through a consent message provided by a Google-certified consent management platform. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the privacy settings link shown by that message. If you do not consent, ads may still be shown on a non-personalized or limited basis.
Managing cookies in your browser
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Most browsers let you refuse third-party cookies entirely. Blocking cookies will not stop the Steal an Egg Wiki from working, though some ads may be less relevant.
How we use information
We use the limited information described above to:
- Deliver pages and keep the site fast, available and secure.
- Understand, in aggregate, which pages and guides are most useful so we know what to update first.
- Reply to emails and handle corrections, takedown requests and privacy requests.
- Show advertising that supports the site, as described above.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties except the service providers described in this policy, or where required by law.
Third-party links and embedded content
Many pages link to external sites, including the YouTube videos we list as sources, the Steal an Egg page on Roblox, and other references. When you follow those links, the other site's own privacy policy applies. We are not responsible for how YouTube, Roblox or other external sites handle your data.
Children's privacy
Steal an Egg is a Roblox game, and we know many of its players are young. The Steal an Egg Wiki does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not offer accounts, comments, chat or forms. If you are under 13, please ask a parent or guardian before emailing us. If a parent or guardian believes their child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal data, including the right to:
- Request access to the personal data we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct or delete it.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
GDPR (EEA and UK). Where the GDPR applies, we rely on legitimate interests to operate and secure the site, on consent for personalized advertising cookies, and on legitimate interests to respond to messages you send us.
California (CCPA/CPRA). We do not sell personal information for money. Cookies used for personalized advertising may be considered "sharing" under California law; you can opt out using Google's Ads Settings, your browser's Global Privacy Control signal where supported, or the cookie tools described above.
Because we do not run accounts, we usually hold no personal data about visitors beyond emails they have sent us. To make a request, email us at contact@stealanegg.fans with "Privacy" in the subject line.
Data retention and security
Emails are deleted once the matter is resolved. Server and security logs are kept by our hosting provider for a limited period according to its own retention policy. The site is served only over HTTPS. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we keep the data we handle to a minimum.
International visitors
The Steal an Egg Wiki is available worldwide. Our service providers, including Cloudflare and Google, may process data in countries other than your own, using the safeguards described in their own policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy when the site changes, for example when we add new features or advertising partners. The "last updated" date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed. Please check back from time to time.
