The poster child of Steal an Egg

If Steal an Egg has a mascot divine, it's the Kitsune, a multi-tailed spirit fox that guards the Cherry Blossom biome and hatches from its eggs. It's the pet creators name as their favourite ("only the spirit animal of my entire channel"), the one they get excited to see "in a real public server", and the subject of the game's most famous admin gift: a colossal rainbow Kitsune worth $9 trillion that put a streamer at number one in the world, until they had to sell it or get banned.

Income readings

Copy Income
Admin-gifted egg $2B
Average $3.8B
Scrambled (small, disappointing) $9.9B
Silver $16B
Golden $34B
Scrambled $37B
Rainbow $48B
Colossal rainbow (dev gift, admin-size) $9T

The $9T one is not reachable in normal play. It was a developer gift with a creator-panel size. For realistic planning, a Kitsune is a $2–48B pet depending on size and mutation.

How to get it

The Kitsune spawns in Cherry Blossom (2.5B speed), and the biome's guardian is itself a Kitsune. Players have stolen Kitsune-biome eggs well under the sign:

  • 700M speed with the drop trick, picking up and dropping the egg all the way home.
  • 2.5B with a jump technique that "somehow" shook the guardian.
  • 6B comfortably: "my first time stealing from Kitsune."

The Kitsune divine itself can't always be solo-stolen at low speed. In an admin test, a creator couldn't escape the guardian with a big Kitsune egg ("there is no getting this egg solo") and had to use an admin tool to pause the pursuit. In a normal server, bring a speed buffer and a weapon.

The egg takes about a day to grow (one admin-gifted copy showed 14 hours).

Size matters more than usual

The Kitsune has some of the widest income spreads among divines. A creator spent a Scrambled potion on one and got $9.9B, then complained "You're a disappointment, my guy… I wasted scrambled on you." Another's large Kitsune hit $37B with the same mutation. Check the egg's weight before spending mutations on it.

Kitsune vs other divines

In a same-size admin test the Kitsune (7T) beat the Unicorn (3.9T) but lost to the Night Flame (11.7T) and the Angels & Demons divines (19.6T). The rule of thumb from that test: "the further back we go, the better the divine." So the Kitsune isn't the strongest. It's the one you can get earliest after the Unicorn, and it looks fantastic in a pen.

Should you keep it later?

Once you have Night Flames, Angels & Demons divines or whales, a small Kitsune may drop out of your Equip Best lineup. A big, mutated one usually stays. Some players keep one anyway because it's their favourite. Steal an Egg is a game about collecting, after all.
