Five ways to combine pets
Steal an Egg has more fusion systems than most players realise, and they work very differently:
- The Fuse Machine: three of the same pet for one new egg. Solo, costs cash.
- Eternal combining: two eternals with another player for a new eternal egg.
- Waterfall divine fusion: two divines with a friend for an Aetherion egg.
- Light and dark pads: two pets on opposite pads for a 50/50 egg.
- The Spirit World Guardian ritual: two Royal Sky Whales and two Celestial Sun Lions inside the Enchanted Tree.
1. The Fuse Machine
Put in three copies of the same pet and pay cash, and you get an egg of that pet with a new, random size. The cost scales with the pets involved:
| Fused | Cost |
|---|---|
| 3× Cosmic Gorilla | $93M |
| 3× Crocodile (mid-game) | $11B |
| 2–3× Stag | $135B |
| 3× giant 67 (admin size) | $40T |
Is it worth it? Usually not for upgrades. Most fuses we watched came out smaller than the inputs. "Bro, it's tiny." The admin test with three giant 67s turned a 92B pet into a 17.6B one, upside down. A Cosmic Gorilla fuse returned "the same thing" at $347K.
Where it is worth it:
- Duplicates you'd sell anyway. Three small Mosasauruses you'll never place have a tiny chance at a big one.
- Quest requirements. The Wisp quest asks you to fuse an Enchanted Forest animal. Three Jackalopes is the easy way.
- Fishing for a mutation. A fused egg can come out rainbow.
Mutation warning: fusing mutated pets can keep the mutation, but there's a high chance of losing it if not every input has it. Never put your best copy in.
2. Combining eternals
With another player, two eternals can be combined into a new eternal egg. One creator found a stranger willing to try: "I've never done this before." The result was a $1.4B eternal. It's a coin flip on size, like the Fuse Machine, so use eternals you're not attached to.
3. Aetherion: waterfall fusion
At the very back of the map there's a waterfall, a lava fall on the demon side. Take a divine, jump in with a friend who has another divine, and the two fuse into an Aetherion egg. In side-by-side tests the Aetherion beats both World Burner and Archangel at equal size (rainbow: $710B vs $500B and $227B), so it's a genuine upgrade.
You can also get an Aetherion egg by combining an angel egg with a demon egg from the Angels & Demons biome. One creator called themselves "the world's first" to do it and got a $6.7B pet.
4. Light and dark pads: the 50/50 egg
In the secret zone there's a dark pad and a light pad. Two players each put a divine or eternal on one side, "dark one… move to the light", and the pair fuses into a 50/50 egg. One creator's first 50/50 egg, after two or three weeks of trying, rolled 12K kg, took 17 hours to grow, and came out at $63B with Scrambled + Enchanted. The secret zone has moved before, so check the map after updates.
5. The Spirit World Guardian recipe
The strongest pet in Steal an Egg isn't stolen. It's made.
You need:
- Two Royal Sky Whales: the Enchanted Forest divine. A friend can bring the second one.
- Two Celestial Sun Lions: the Enchanted Forest eternal.
- The Wisp quest completed, so the Enchanted Tree is open (see the Enchanted Forest guide).
Steps:
- Go into the Enchanted Tree's hidden room.
- Place the two lions and the two whales on the fusion spots at the same time. Two lions alone won't trigger anything; the Vietnamese creator who documented this first tried the lions alone and nothing happened.
- The four pets are consumed and you get a fused egg. In the documented run it was worth $792B before any new mutation.
- Apply mutations, Enchanted especially, then hatch.
Result: a Golden + Scrambled + Enchanted Spirit World Guardian at $2.2 trillion per second, about as much as the creator's whole main account. It looks like a lion with a dragon's whiskers.
What decides the quality? The whales. The creator's lions were "pretty bad", and the Guardian still came out huge. Their conclusion: "the whale is the one that matters". Bring your best whale and don't worry much about lion size.
Fusion decision tree
- Got three junk duplicates? → Fuse Machine, if the cost is small relative to your income.
- Got two spare eternals and a friend? → Eternal combining.
- Got two divines you're not using and a friend? → Waterfall, for an Aetherion.
- Got a friend with a divine or eternal? → Light/dark pads for a 50/50 egg.
- Got two whales and two Sun Lions? → Spirit World Guardian. Nothing else comes close.
