Which Steal an Egg guide should you read first?
These guides are ordered roughly by when you'll need them. Pick the stage that matches your account:
Brand new (under $10K per second): read the beginner guide first. It covers the tutorial, the index trick that gives you most of your early speed, which eggs to keep and how to reach the Jungle in about half an hour.
Not spending Robux: the free-to-play guide follows a real zero-Robux account from a Golden Chicken to $2 billion per second, including how it got an eternal within 30 minutes.
Stuck at a speed wall: the speed training guide explains the treadmill, trails, multipliers and index rewards, and the order to upgrade them. The stealing tricks guide shows how players steal from biomes they're technically too slow for.
Chasing divines: the divine hunting guide covers spawn announcements, server sizes, team scouting and weapons. The fusion guide explains every way to combine pets, from the basic Fuse Machine to the Aetherion waterfall, 50/50 eggs and the Spirit World Guardian.
Endgame: the Enchanted Forest guide walks through the Wisp quest, the hidden tree room, the mushroom and banjo puzzle and Butterfly Bloom. The mutation strategy guide shows how top players stack mutations. The Dr. Scramble guide covers the boss, Boss Mastery and the lab machine.
Thinking about Robux: the Robux spending guide ranks every purchase by value, based on what creators actually got for 14,000 to 100,000+ Robux.
How these guides are written
Each Steal an Egg guide comes from watching full runs, not short clips. When a guide says "the Prehistoric sign says 18M but big eggs need more", that's because we watched players with 18.1M speed fail to bring a big egg home, then succeed with a small one. When a guide gives a number, it links to the moment in the video where the number appears. When something is uncertain, such as an untested multiplier or a badge we haven't seen, the guide says so.
The guides also try to explain why something works. "Use the drop trick" isn't much use unless you know the guardian stops chasing when you're not carrying anything, which tells you when the trick fails too (in a crowded server, someone else picks your egg up).
The five habits every guide comes back to
If you read nothing else, these five habits show up in every successful run we studied:
- Claim your index rewards constantly. Every new pet pays speed and cash. Early on, it's worth more than the treadmill.
- Check egg weight before you steal. Size decides income more than rarity does. A heavy egg of a common pet can beat a light egg of a rare one.
- Steal at day, grow at night. You can't steal during the night, but your eggs grow faster then. Plant everything before dusk and train while you wait.
- Play every Admin Abuse. 2x money, 2x egg size, 2x mutations, free eternals and the first look at new biomes, all in one hour a week.
- Upgrade your weapon and carry traps. Most lost eggs are lost to other players, not guardians.
Quick answers
What's the fastest way to get speed in Steal an Egg? Early: index rewards, then joining the game's group for +10,000. Mid-game: treadmill upgrades plus the best trail you can afford. Robux: the speed multiplier ladder, not the "1 billion speed" packs.
How do I get a divine? Reach 700M speed for the Unicorn, keep the game open so you see the spawn message, steal the smallest copy if you're short on speed, and drop and re-pick it to shake the guardian.
Are mutations worth it? Yes, on big eggs. A Scrambled potion is a 10% roll, so spend potions only on eggs that will make your Equip Best lineup.
Should I use the Fuse Machine? Only on duplicates you'd sell anyway. Most fuses in our sources came out smaller than what went in.
Keeping guides current
The game updates almost weekly. Each guide shows a "last checked" date, and when an update changes a route (a new treadmill, a price cut, a new biome), we revise the guide rather than writing a new one. Bookmark this page and check the blog for update recaps.
