The short version
If you're going to spend Robux in Steal an Egg, the best value runs in this order:
- 2x Money game pass: doubles every pet forever.
- Speed multiplier ladder (x2 → x4,000): permanent, compounds with every treadmill.
- 2x Growth game pass: halves every egg timer.
- Grow All, only when your pen is full of big eggs.
And the worst:
- "1 billion speed" packs: a one-off flat amount the treadmill gives you for free later.
- 50-egg packs, unless you enjoy gambling.
- Instant hatch on a single divine.
The rest of this guide shows where those rankings come from.
What creators actually got for their Robux
| Spend | What they bought | What happened |
|---|---|---|
| ~14,000 | 5× "1 billion speed" | Reached 7B, still caught at the 7B Titan Temple with a big egg |
| ~24,000 | 50 monster eggs, passes, 1B speed, max treadmill | $13B/s pet from a pack, but ran out of Robux before the end |
| ~42,000 | 15× "1 billion speed" | Then noticed the treadmill gave a billion for free in minutes |
| ~100,000+ | Everything over time | ~150B/s, nowhere near the #1 player |
| ~30,000 | (the #1 player) | Number one on the leaderboard |
The pattern is clear: knowing what to do beat spending. The top player spent less than a third of what one creator did and earned many times more, because she saved mutations and hunted big eggs.
Game passes
2x Money is the easiest recommendation. Every pet in your pen doubles, permanently, including pets you haven't caught yet. On a full-price account it's around 450 Robux, and it has been seen as low as 190 on discounted regional pricing. One creator noted their $96B pen "actually becomes 192 billion" with it.
2x Growth halves egg timers. Divine eggs go from 12–24 hours to 6–12, which matters a lot if you play daily. It's less valuable for casual players, who can just plant at night.
Speed multipliers
The speed multiplier ladder multiplies your treadmill gain: x2 for 3 Robux, x4 for 9, then up through x8, x16, x32, x64, x512 (about 480), x1,000, x2,000 and x4,000 at tier 12. On a full-price account the final x4,000 tier alone costs about 1,238 Robux, and the whole ladder adds up to roughly 3,000–4,000; a discounted account paid 259 for x1,000, 379 for x2,000 and 550 for x4,000.
It's expensive, but it's permanent and multiplicative: every treadmill upgrade you ever buy gets multiplied by it. Creators called the max speed pass "OP" and "game-breaking". If you only buy one big thing, buy this.
The first two tiers (3 and 9 Robux) are absurdly cheap and worth it even for nearly free players.
The "1 billion speed" trap
The shop also sells flat speed: 1 billion speed for 2,300–3,000 Robux. That sounds huge at first. But once you're at the stage where a billion matters, a decent treadmill gives you that in minutes. One creator, mid-purchase at 42,000 Robux: "Wait, this is actually kind of dumb, because just running on the treadmill I gain a billion speed for free." They bought it once more anyway. Learn from it.
Egg packs
Packs of 10 or 50 brainrot or monster eggs (2,800–3,400 Robux for 50) are pure gambling. Headline odds: 1% Strawberry Elephant, 5% mid-tier pulls, and rare Mecha or Dreadscale divines in monster packs. Results we watched:
- 50 brainrot eggs: one Strawberry Elephant ($176M), a Beluga ($156K) and a pile of $100–$5,000 filler.
- 50 Extinction eggs: one red 1% egg worth $2.9B and "mostly monkeys", about 2,700 Robux "for nothing".
- A 50-egg monster pack did produce a $13B giant, the best result we saw.
If you buy packs, do it during 2x egg size events so the pulls come out bigger.
Grow All and instant hatch
Grow All (160–200 Robux) finishes every egg in your pen. With eight big eggs placed, that's cheap per egg. With one egg it's a waste, since instant hatch on a short timer costs as little as 8 Robux. Divine instant hatches run up to about 300 Robux. Tempting, but planting at night and waiting is free.
A useful middle ground: wait until your pen is full of long timers, then Grow All once.
Treadmills and trails with Robux
Late-game treadmills like the Angelic (1,200 Robux) and trails like the Moon Bloom can be bought with Robux instead of trillions in cash. These are fine if you've already bought the multipliers. Treadmill prices were cut for newer accounts in October, so check the cash price before paying Robux.
A sensible budget plan
- 0 Robux: follow the free-to-play guide. It works.
- ~500 Robux: x2 and x4 speed (12) plus 2x Money.
- ~1,500 Robux: add 2x Growth.
- ~4,000+ Robux: the full speed multiplier ladder.
- Beyond: Grow All on full pens during events. Skip flat speed packs entirely.
