Where secrets begin
The King Snake is the secret of the Jungle, a long, glowing snake ("Ooh, it's a long boy") and historically important: it's the first secret on the Steal an Egg map. Every biome before the Jungle tops out at Legendary or Cosmic. "This is the first index where we actually have a secret… We are in secret territory now."

That second-to-fifth row is one of the cleanest mutation comparisons in Steal an Egg: the same snake at 2.5x (Golden), 2.75x (Scrambled) and 3.5x (Rainbow). The creator's comments were equally useful: Silver was "disgusting", Scrambled "looks exactly the same, now he's just glowing with farts", and Rainbow was "pretty good".
How to get it
The King Snake spawns in the Jungle (40K speed), guarded by a loud, persistent Tiger. It's announced as a secret spawn, so the whole server knows. Tips:
- Be at the Jungle when a new day starts. Nests reset at dawn.
- At exactly 40K, small eggs are fine; a big King Snake egg is risky.
- Expect players to fight you for it. The Lake index bat helps.
The egg takes 1 hour 30 minutes to grow, long for this stage. "This egg right here takes 1 hour and 30 minutes to hatch. But with the power of mom's credit card…" is how one creator skipped it. Free players should plant it before night.
Why it matters early
A single King Snake at $3M+ is worth more than a whole early pen of Tigers and Spiders. In a fresh-account run, it was described as "a very big boy" and immediately became the best pet. It also teaches the secret-spawn routine (announcement, rush, contest, home) that you'll use for every secret and eternal later.
When to move on
By the Snow and Volcano stages, Yetis, Lava Dragons and Phoenixes outclass it. Keep it until Equip Best drops it.
Where it sits
C tier overall, but an important milestone: your first secret, and a great test pet for understanding mutation multipliers.

Is the King Snake the best Jungle pet? Yes. It's the Jungle's secret and outearns the White Tiger roughly ten to one.
Why does my King Snake earn less than yours? Egg weight. Two King Snakes can differ a lot, which is why we list the average and the mutated readings separately.
Is it worth a Scrambled potion? Only if it's your heaviest egg at the time. Scrambled took a $3.5M snake to $9.6M, nice early, but tiny next to what the same potion does on an eternal.
Should I keep it for the index? Always. Index rewards scale with rarity, and the first secret in your index pays well.
