Where income hits nine digits
The Volcano is biome six, behind a 700,000 speed sign and guarded by Cerberus, the three-headed dog. In early versions of Steal an Egg the Volcano was near the end of the map. One first-time player reached it, stole a volcano egg and declared "I basically beat the game". Today it's mid-game, but it's still the biome where your income first reaches hundreds of millions per second, thanks to the Lava Dragon.
How Cerberus behaves
Cerberus is fast, so at the sign value he's catchable with anything heavy. Tips from the runs we watched:
- With 575K speed, under the sign, one creator stole the smallest egg, got it out of the biome, then used sideways running to shake Cerberus: "What's the strategy? You go sideways, right?" It worked, barely.
- A free-to-play run with just over 700K used the drop trick: "If we drop it, he'll stop chasing us, then run for it again." It made it "just barely".
- One creator with 5.2M speed, way over the sign, waltzed through: "I'm double this guy."
The Volcano egg pool
- Chilling Chilli: the pepper pet, $44K average and $590K golden. Even a "flaming hot" egg that looked special hatched a regular Chilli. "199 Robux just to open a really bad egg."
- Lava Gecko, Lava Frog, Lava Iguana and Flaming Bull fill the middle.
- Phoenix: mythic, from the glowing egg, about $74M.
- Cerberus: the secret, about $8M.
- Lava Dragon: the eternal, $100–223M base.
- A secret Sabertooth egg has also been announced spawning in the Volcano.
The Lava Dragon
The Volcano eternal has a 5-hour timer and a funny reputation: "It looks so much like a lizard. I don't know, man. It don't look like a dragon to me." Whatever it looks like, it earns:

For many players the Lava Dragon is the first pet over $100M, and it stays in the pen for a long time.
Should you farm the Volcano?
Yes, for a while. It's the cheapest place to get a 100M+ pet, and Phoenix eggs are a good consolation prize. Once you have one or two Lava Dragons, though, the next eggs worth chasing are in the Abyss Ocean (El Maja, Kraken) at 2.5M speed, only about 3.5x away.
Volcano events
Rifts can open in the Volcano too. One creator reported "a mysterious rift spawned inside the volcano zone". Rift eggs and boss rifts are covered on the events page. A pen full of Volcano eggs planted at dusk is a good use of the night cycle, since their timers run faster after dark.
Common Volcano mistakes
Paying Robux to open "special-looking" eggs. A flaming hot egg looked like a mutation and hatched a regular Chilli for 199 Robux.
Going for the biggest egg at the sign value. Cerberus catches heavy eggs at 700K. Take small eggs first.
Leaving before the index is done. Volcano pets pay solid index rewards on the way to the Abyss Ocean.
Ignoring the Phoenix egg. The glowing egg is easy to spot and the Phoenix it hatches made about $74M, more than the Cerberus secret.
