Sand, snakes and a very fast scorpion

The Desert is biome three and needs 10,000 speed. It's the first place in Steal an Egg where the guardian is genuinely dangerous to a new player. The Scorpion is fast and hits hard, and in a 20-minute race one creator spent half their time complaining about it: "This stupid scorpion. It's like my bat does nothing." It's also the first biome where pets reliably earn thousands per second.

Beating the Scorpion

The Scorpion closes distance quickly, so just meeting the sign isn't always enough with a heavy egg. Players who struggled here fixed it with:

  • More speed. A free-to-play run hit 12K, slightly over the sign, mostly from index claims, and could steal comfortably.
  • Small eggs first. One creator with 3.6K speed tried a Desert egg anyway and got caught instantly. At 12K, small eggs were easy.
  • Using its hits. A funny detail from the race: when the Scorpion knocks you, it sometimes pushes you forward. "You pushed me further, that lowkey helped." Don't count on it, though.
  • Going back. If you're hit near the edge of the biome, the egg may still be there. "They hit you and you can just go back and get it."

The Desert egg pool

  • Camel: common, $160–566 a second.
  • Fennec Fox: uncommon, from the bunny-looking egg. A poor earner at about $16 a second.
  • Desert Spider: rare; big ones reach $61K.
  • Sand Spider: epic. It won a no-Robux race on its own at $13.1K a second.
  • Scorpion: mythic, $8K–39K.
  • Slithering Snake / Rattlesnake: the legendary, from an egg with a 2-minute grow, about $3K–3.7K.
  • Royal Sphinx: the Desert's top pull, about $216K for an average one. A huge Sphinx egg came out at $7M.

A handy tip from one creator: type the biome's name in the index filter and the game shows every egg the Desert can drop. That's the easiest way to see what's missing.

What to keep

The Royal Sphinx and a big Spider or Scorpion are worth keeping until the Jungle. Everything else: index and sell. Desert pets fall off quickly once you reach the Jungle's tigers.

Day, night and Desert runs

The day/night cycle matters a lot here because Desert eggs are close enough to make several trips per day. One creator nearly lost a steal to the clock: they grabbed a Desert egg, the sky turned to day and the nest reset under them. Plan your last trip of the day so you're back before dusk, then train on the treadmill through the night while your eggs grow faster.

Getting to the Jungle

The Jungle needs 40,000 speed. From 10K that's a 4x jump, and here's a reasonable route:

  1. Fill the Desert index (cash + speed).
  2. Upgrade the treadmill to the Golden/Blue tier (24–75 per step).
  3. Buy the next trail you can afford.
  4. Keep stealing Desert eggs in between. Every new pet type is another reward.

A free-to-play account reached 37,000 speed with $18K per second this way, "literally one index away" from the Jungle.
